THE JOURNEY OF GRIEF:
HOLDING THE SPACE FOR WHOLENESS IN A BROKEN WORLD

Now is the time to step into our full potential in this time of crisis.

June 29 - August 10

Mondays 12:00 - 1:30 PM ET (US)
(Find your local time here)
If this time doesn't suit your schedule, don't worry!
You can also participate by joining the community on The Journey of Grief learning platform.
The Monday sessions will be recorded and available for you to watch on your own time.
"One thing all human beings have in common is loss." – Malidoma Somé
The Journey of Grief is a 7-week training for those who are ready to step into their full potential as leaders who can hold the space for people who are grieving (and who isn't?) in this time of great disruption.

Participants will engage weekly on Zoom and an online learning platform will provide many resources that enrich our experience. Carolyn Baker and Terry Chapman will convene this 7-week experience.

The Journey of Grief is an evolving, co-creative resource that is a field guide and practice that will help leaders walk with those who are grieving, building resilience so that we can respond to unfolding disruption with increasing compassion and courage.

Seven 90 minute gatherings via ZOOM

Supported by on-line resources

Community of Practice

Using the ZOOM platform we will connect with other leaders who will become allies on the path. See this orientation to the Zoom platform. Connection details sent by email.
The adventure will be supported by online resources, including The Journey Field Guide and learning platform accessible only to those registered for the program.
We are planning an ongoing Community of Practice where leaders can continue to support one another as they integrate the learnings in their contexts
Tuition is determined by the participant on a “Choose What You Pay” scale.
Each participant will decide for themselves what "tuition" amount feels right, clear, and fair, reflecting their financial condition as well as their feeling of value and gratitude. A 7-week experience of this kind might cost between $700 and $1000. But, zero is welcome as well. In this regard, we are intentionally living into a basic principle of gift — so we will not specify what the return gift shall be. We trust your judgment about what represents a commitment on your part and respects your financial situation.

Intentions & Outcomes

Intentions
  • Create a circle of trust, a holding space for transformation
  • Bring into the light of the circle experiences of grief
  • Notice tendencies for fear-based reactivity
  • Build capacities to PAUSE to deepen courageous and compassionate responses to unfolding disruptions
  • Provide practical and replicable resources to invite others into this field of resilience so that grief can be metabolized and not metastasized
  • Experience the healing potential of the body, stories, poetry, ritual, art and music
  • Hold the space for each other to expand our worldview in order to accommodate the transformation that is needed now
  • In a supportive community, the experience of grieving will be made conscious and empowering. We can intentionally open to the unexpected gifts of meaning, joy, and purpose inherent in what we most dread.
Outcomes
  • Learn how to integrate powerful, transformative experience of grief in your EVERYDAY LIFE and while helping other people find their their way in this disruptive time
  • Gain new friends (awesome allies!) on The Journey (from "social distancing" to relational connection)
  • Access to The Journey of Grief resource that will expand the potential for resilience and wholeness in your context.
  • Experience The Art of Convening, the art and science of essential conversation leading to powerful outcomes as a container building resource
  • Experience being HELD in a safe and generative community of belonging
  • Learn and practice the difference between blind optimism and grounded HOPE
  • Creation of a ritual space in your home that will be an anchor in these tumultuous times, a "sanctuary in place."
