INTEGRATIVE Leadership
for Men
November 2021- September 2023

For men called to
Live, Love and Lead in these Disruptive Times
Integrating transformative experiences into everyday life.

REGISTRATION
If you are called to this work please register.

12 courageous men are nearing the completion of this part of a 2 year journey.  We are thrilled to announce a new cohort for men who are ready to step into their full potential to be leaders in this time of great disruption.  We will journey together to fully awaken our hearts and minds, not just for our own greater well-being but also to bring benefit, solace, and wisdom to other living beings.

We have heard men say:
  • "I want to find a community of men who are learning to lead with wisdom, compassion and courage.”
  • "I have experienced the power of men's groups, retreats and rites of passage, but wonder how it all fits into my everyday life."
  • "Something is urging me to step up to be a leader in this time of great disruption and I know I cannot do it alone."
  • "It is time for me to up my game to live into my purpose…”

Pandemic, Climate degradation. Migration. Political polarization. Racism. Poverty. Fundamentalism. Terrorism.  Economic disparity.  Though there are advances in medicine, reduction in extreme poverty and other advances worldwide we are living in perilous times. And the potential of profound personal, societal, and global renewal has never been more real. Now is the time to step up to learn how to live, love, and lead in and through these challenging times!

Now is our time. We sense we are called to feel and respond to the full catastrophe of our time. Though many numb out, deny, get lost in work, self medicate and find other strategies to pretend that this is just "business as usual," we know in our bones that we are called to step up to lead and to step into the role as elders who can serve others as companions and guides. Yet how do we navigate if we endlessly repeat the unfolding stories of disasters in our minds, and only see the potential continued disintegration ahead? How do we find the way to navigate the way forward if we don't have a field guide, and allies to walk with us?

The Spanish poet Antonio Machado offers wisdom for us in these times: “Traveler, there is no path.  The path is made by walking.”  Or (depending on translation), “Walker, there is no road. You make the road by walking.”  And, “There is no trail, only foam trails on the sea.”

We are hard-wired for reaction when faced with disruption. It takes intention and practice to learn how to respond.

This 2-year experience will be convened by Terry Chapman and Jeff Steckley along with guest faculty. This Journey is an evolving, co-creative resource that is a field guide and practice that will help men build resilience and respond to unfolding disruption with compassion and courage.

Over the course of this Journey we will connect with other leaders who will be our allies. We will be inviting guest faculty to share their wisdom along the way.

In addition to in-person retreats participants will engage monthly on Zoom. An online learning and connection platform will provide many resources that will enrich our experience.

Program Fees

The fixed cost of the 2 in person retreats (lodging & food) and other expenses is $850.  This is is the actual cost of retreat lodging, food, supplies and travel expense for Jeff and Terry.

Though we encourage in person participation, we understand that some men will not be able to travel.  We are offering a way for men to participate in parts of the retreat via Zoom. The cost of the virtual connection is $100. More information to follow.

With regard to tuition for the program, we are asking each man to determine the amount they will pay. Each participant will decide for themselves what "tuition" amount feels right, clear, and fair, reflecting their financial condition as well as their feeling of value and gratitude. Zero is welcome as well. In this regard, we are intentionally living in to a basic principle of gift — so we will not specify what the return gift shall be.

We’ll explain more when you register. You may choose to pay what a normal year long program of this level of quality costs, or you may choose more, less, or even zero. We cannot really put a number value on it. That is not because we don’t think it is valuable. It is because we don’t know what the value will be for each man, especially given the wide diversity of financial means out there.

Therefore, we offer the program as a gift, trusting the generosity of participants to support us in developing and sustaining in-depth learning journeys like this one. We trust your judgment about what represents a commitment on your part and respects your financial situation.
